Mentoring with a Mission: Laurie Wagner Joins Hope 4 Liberia as Educational Supervisor

We are thrilled to welcome Laurie Wagner to the Hope 4 Liberia missionary team as our new Educational Supervisor. Laurie is passionate about fostering a Christ-centered education, with a strong emphasis on instilling a biblical worldview in the hearts and minds of our children. With her dedication and experience, Laurie will be leading our educational department, ensuring that each child in our care is nurtured both academically and spiritually as they grow into the leaders of tomorrow.

In the coming year, Laurie will be working closely with Philip and Bayama, mentoring them and collaborating to meet the educational needs of our children. Together, they will strive to create an environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.

Laurie writes:

I have been married to my husband Allen for 39 years, and we have been blessed with 12 children (now ages 13 to 35) and, so far 12 grandchildren.

Early in our marriage, Allen and I started seriously studying the Bible together, because we wanted to know the heart of God and to live our lives in a way that would glorify Him. God has led us each step of the way, and has been faithful to not leave us wondering or wandering. The Bible says that if we lack wisdom we can ask of God and he will give it to us liberally! (James 1:5) We have found that to be very true in our lives and in our family. He has opened our eyes and clearly shown us the way so many times.

As the Educational Supervisor/Advisor for Hope 4 Liberia, I will need much wisdom and I know God will be true to His promise, and will reveal His wisdom in every situation that arises.

I have a Bachelor's degree in education, taught middle school and high school Science, and I homeschooled all 12 of our children (I'm still homeschooling the youngest). We are so blessed as we see our children following the Lord and beginning their own Christ-centered families.

Most importantly, I love Jesus and want to be used by Him in whatever way He chooses, for the rest of my life. Although we have supported the Hope 4 Liberia mission for quite some time, this is a new role for me and one I can only fulfill by relying on God for wisdom, grace, and strength.

I'm thankful for those who partner with me and with Hope 4 Liberia in support and in prayer. You are being used by God to transform the lives of “the least of these”...double-orphaned children in one of the poorest countries in the world. We pray that these children will someday be used by God to bring His blessing and transformation to their communities.
