Today, we are thrilled to introduce you to Mr. Albert Nshimiyimana, a vital member of our team at the orphanage village. Albert is not only a team player but also a person of remarkable character. He is responsible for all maintenance work, and we are excited to share a glimpse into his inspiring journey—a life that has walked many paths and crossed many waters, from exile to refuge.
Albert is originally from Rwanda. He lost his father in a tragic car accident at the age of two and was raised by his single mother. She played a crucial role in shaping his admirable personality. A devout Christian, she instilled in Albert the virtues of service to humanity. "I am telling you this from my heart,” he shared. “My mother taught me that the only way I can best serve humanity is to have the fear of God in me." He attributes his strong moral foundation to her prayers and discipline, saying, "I would have been a bad boy” without them. Inspired by his mother’s faith, Albert formed a personal relationship with Christ at age 18.
Albert’s early life was spent in Rwanda, a country that endured immense suffering due to tribal animosity. The Rwandan genocide claimed the lives of many, including some of Albert’s brothers and extended family members, and disrupted his education in public works and construction. The aftermath forced him into exile, leading him down a challenging path.
In 2007, Albert moved to Liberia to start anew and build a family. The following year, he married a Liberian woman, and they have been blessed with three children. His commitment to serving humanity is evident in his work on rural community development projects across Liberia, including constructing farm-to-market roads and bridges.
We are fortunate to have Albert on our Liberian team. His skills are invaluable as the general maintenance personnel at Hope 4 Liberia mission village. One of Albert’s many admirable qualities is his rapport with children. The kids at the orphanage are captivated by his ability to do "many" things.
Albert’s faith is a cornerstone of his life. "I am not so much a religious fanatic. But I value my relationship with Christ second to none," he says. Despite being a wanderer in his early years, his faith has provided him a safe haven. "Whenever I am in trouble in my desert places, I run to Him, and He has always been there as a friend and a fountain."
We are honored to have Albert as part of our community, and we are grateful for the dedication and compassion he brings to our mission.
