Our first Christmas season this year came alive during our childrenās Christmas playāa heartfelt reenactment of the nativity story.
While the performance was touching, with costumes and bright lights creating a festive atmosphere, it was an unscripted moment after the play that truly captured our hearts.
As the eveningās excitement began to settle and the costumes were being packed away, Auntie Janelle, who had worked tirelessly with the children, noticed something extraordinary. Little Moses T., one of our beloved children, had wandered back to the stable. There, he gently picked up the baby Jesus from the manger and began cradling him in his arms. Sitting quietly, Moses rocked the doll as though he were holding the real Christ child.
Auntie Janelle, deeply moved, later shared, āAfter we finished our pageant tonight and were putting costumes away, I looked over and saw the sweetest sight. Moses T. was sitting in the stable holding and rocking the ābaby Jesus.āā
When our CEO Kelly saw the photo of Moses and the baby Jesus, her heart was also touched. āThis makes me cry,āĀ she said. āThe thoughts he might be having thereā¦ā
This simple, tender moment speaks volumes about the work God is doing in the lives of our children. At Hope 4 Liberia, Christmas is more than just a celebrationāitās a time to reflect on the true meaning of the season: the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Through the songs, rehearsals, and nativity play, our children arenāt just learning about Christmas. They are experiencing the love and presence of Jesus in personal and profound ways. Moments like Moses cradling the baby Jesus remind us why we do what we do. Itās about more than providing shelter and care; itās about nurturing their faith and seeing Christ transform their hearts.
As we enter the new year, we are grateful for how God is using this season to shape the lives of the children in our care. We are humbled to witness their growth in faith and understanding, and weāre reminded of Jesusā words:
āLet the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.āĀ (Matthew 19:14)
Thank you for your continued prayers and support of Hope 4 Liberia. Together, we are planting seeds of faith that will grow for generations to come.
From all of us at Hope 4 Liberia, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a new year filled with hope, peace, and blessings.
