“Healing Hearts…”

When you read our organizational motto, the first part of it says "Healing hearts..." This is what we mean by "healing hearts."

Hope 4 Liberia was birthed from the compassionate heart of our CEO after witnessing firsthand the profane despair and poverty afflicting orphans in Liberia. The country had endured a harrowing 14-year civil war, followed by the devastating Ebola outbreak in 2014, which plunged the country into deeper economic mayhem, and leading to the sad emergence of over 100,000 orphans (one out of every 20 children under 18). Without caregivers, these precious individuals are being left in a state of desperation, brokenness, and profound

impoverishment. They are deprived of the opportunity to experience the nurturing embrace of a strong, healthy family environment, and the comforting presence of a mother and the protective care of a father.

The number of orphaned children living on the streets is continuing to rise in Liberia. These abandoned kids are found in almost every corner of Liberia's streets as drug addicts. (Sad fact: two in ten Liberian youth is a drug addict). Liberian prisons are filled with those of them who have grown up to become criminals and pocket-pickers.

This trend leaves us all to wonder about what is going to become of their future. Worst of all, what can we say about the salvation of these precious and innocent souls that God has called us to look after (James 1:27)? Until a compassionate heart like yours can rise up and do something,

the hearts of over 100,000 orphans in Liberia will remain hurt, and sadly… lost.

At Hope 4 Liberia, we strongly believe that God still loves these hearts that the devil is battling to stray away from Him. We believe that the price at Calvary was also paid for them. And we are of the unwavering conviction that God has called us to bring Him glory and to heal hearts, by loving and offering hope to Liberian orphans.

The solution to the plight of these orphans is clear: they need homes. God has blessed Hope 4 Liberia with a beautiful boy's home and a girl's home for double-orphaned kids in Liberia. In addition to providing them a home, we are about transforming their lives by helping them grow into self-reliant and responsible individuals who will make positive contributions to their local community.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world (James 1:27).
